How far are you from Newquay?
Treloy Touring Park is approximately 3 miles from Newquay town centre.
How far is it to the nearest beach?
Porth beach is about 2 and a half miles away. Newquay has a variety of stunning beaches, we have local maps at reception showing these.
Can I walk to the beach?
There are narrow lanes (no pavements) and up and down hill, making it easier for older children than the very young. Most beaches have parking.
Can I choose a pitch or area?
Yes, you can! If you have a favourite pitch / area, enter your preference in the Specific Pitch request box when booking online. There is a £15 fee per booking for selecting a specific pitch. We will email confirmation that your requested pitch is available. Unless you choose to select a specific pitch, you will be allocated a suitable pitch and be advised of this on arrival. Early booking is recommended
Can we be pitched next to our friends?
We’ll do our best to accommodate your request! If you and your friends would like to be pitched together, enter your preference in the Specific Pitch request box when you each book online. The £15 pitch selection fee applies per booking.
What is the earliest arrival time?
12 noon. Sorry, we do not have a “holding area” and cannot accommodate you before this time.
What is the latest arrival time?
8pm. Please advise us if you think you may be arriving later than this.
At what time must I vacate my pitch?
10 am.
Are barbecues allowed?
Yes, and bricks are available to borrow from outside our Reception to avoid your pitch grass getting burnt.
Are open or camp fires allowed?
Strictly “No”, not at any time; no open fires or burning of wood is allowed.
Are fire pits allowed?
Only if they are used with BBQ charcoal or briquettes, no open fires or burning of wood is allowed.
Is there a play area for children?
Yes, there is a large sandy area with swings, climbing frames, zip wire, etc.
Can the children fly a kite or play football?
Yes, there is a grass Playing Field
Are children allowed to bring bicycles/scooters?
Push bikes and scooters are allowed – please ride them safely and remember to bring helmets. However, we cannot allow motorised scooters.
Can you recommend cycle routes?
The Camel Trail is very popular with all ages (Padstow to Wadebridge and beyond). Also Lanhydrock has wooded trails and a nice cafe and play area.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome (max 2). Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 2014 and 1991 and the American Bully breed or any crosses of these are not permitted. Please refer to our Touring Terms and Conditions and Park Rules.
What facilities are there for dogs?
There is a dog walk area and a large dog exercise field on site. Also a dog shower, perfect after trips to the beach.
Can I get wifi on site?
Wifi is provided by a local company (CDA) payable by card on your device, per device.
What is mobile phone coverage?
Variable – best to check with your network provider.
Are there CCTV security cameras?
Yes, there are CCTV cameras around the site.
What is TV reception like?
It is variable. The higher your aerial the better it will be.
Can I walk to a pub or restaurant?
We can recommend restaurants & provide taxi phone numbers
Is there a bar or club on site?
Yes Treloy has its own “Surfrider Bar”, it opens in the evenings, and all afternoon too in the school holidays, please see Facilities page.
Do I need to bring cash?
Yes, for the pool tables, bingo and washing machines/driers. We can provide change for notes.
Is there a Games Room?
Yes, it has a pool table and table tennis.
Is there a shop on site?
Yes, the shop sells fresh milk, freshly brewed coffee, croissants, smoothies, milkshakes, food, toys and camping supplies. Please see Facilities page. There is a patio, with tables, overlooking the children’s’ play area.
Is there a Cafe on site?
There is a cafe/takeaway with seats inside and on the patios; breakfasts and home-made evening meals are served by helpful staff.
Is Treloy far from the Boardmasters music festival?
No, only a short distance away. You may be able hear some of the music and you may notice extra traffic while the festival is on.
Is there a bus service?
A bus service between Newquay and St Columb Major runs along the A3059 which is a 15 min walk from Treloy, there are directions displayed at reception and at the entrance to the dog exercise field. The times are displayed at Reception and the shop. There is also a bus which stops on request at our entrance, see times displayed at reception.
Is the water safe to drink?
Yes
Where are the taps nearest my pitch?
The site map shows the water points in the camping areas.
Can I extend my stay?
If it is possible we will be pleased to extend your stay.
Can you recommend Surfing Schools?
We have details of several surf schools in Reception. Most of the local beaches have surf schools based on them.
Do you have holiday homes, static caravans or lodges/chalets?
No but we do have a Shepherd’s Hut.
Do I have to pay for showers or family rooms?
No, these are included.
Do you accept group bookings?
No. We cater for families and couples only. Let us know, when you book, if you wish to be pitched close to your friends.
Can touring caravans and tents pitch side by side?
Yes, if each has the same type of pitch
What is the power supply to electric hook-ups?
16 amp. You will need to bring a camping mains connection lead/cable
Do I need special pegs for the hard-standing pitches?
Yes, rock pegs are recommended.
Are the pitches marked out?
Yes
Is road access to the site easy?
Yes
Will there be noise from aircraft taking off from the Airport?
The runways are on the far side of the airport and noise is rarely heard from commercial aircraft, as we are not under a flight path. The old RAF site is visible from Treloy, but there is very little activity.
