Out and about in Newquay
Treloy is just three miles from the world famous beaches of Cornwall’s premier resort, Newquay. In fact, a short drive affords you the pick of this beautiful coastline. With eleven beaches nearby you can swim, surf, build sandcastles or walk the coastal path and enjoy the breathtaking views: all this is on our doorstep.
A regular public bus service runs from Treloy into Newquay itself where there is a good range of shops and restaurants and excellent leisure facilities, including access to surfing and watersports, horse riding and pony trekking.
As well as its fabulous beaches, Newquay has something for everyone. Theme parks in the area include Springfields Fun Park and Crealy Adventure Park, Dairyland and the Lappa Valley Railway. Trenance Gardens has a lovely boating lake, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a bowling green. It is also very close to both Newquay Zoo and the flumes and fun pools of Waterworld.
Any of our guests who enjoy golf can take advantage of our concessionary rates at Treloy Golf Course. 9-holes, a driving range, a golf shop with club hire facility and licensed clubhouse are all just 500 yards away.
Half and full day fishing trips operate out of the picturesque harbour or, if coarse fishing is more your style, SW Lakes’ Porth Reservoir is only one mile away. A mature coarse fishery with no closed season, Porth tests fishermen of all abilities. Consistently producing some of the best fishing in Devon and Cornwall, Porth has carp, tench, bream (match weights of 111lb), roach (11/4lb plus), rudd (up to 3lb), pike, perch and eels – great competition water.
